About us

We are Ape Conservation Effort, also known as ACE, a Georgia-based non-profit, helping great apes around the world. Our members and volunteers are passionate about all animals, but saving the great ape species – bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans – is what we’re committed to. We work to increase awareness about the plight of the great apes and raise money to help their conservation.

Founded in 2006 by keepers and volunteers from Zoo Atlanta, we’ve grown to a network of members across multiple states. Ape Conservation Effort has raised over $294,000 for internationally recognized organizations that work to save great apes from extinction and conserve their natural habitats. Being 100% volunteer run allows us to make a greater impact on the lives of all great apes.

Ape Conservation Effort, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
